BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Clwyd Area

This dial has been moved within living memory from its original location in the stable block, where it would have been used to regulate the stable clock. It now stands in the flower garden, mounted proud of the top of a decorative stone baluster some 1260 high. Heavy green patina makes it difficult to read the engraving, but It is signed at the south ‘G. ADAMS No 60 Fleet Street London’, and ’Lat 52 57’ appears in the north outside an EoT ring. It has a 16-point compass rose labelled to NNW etc. Hours are IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the outside, with a split noon. The outermost ring is marked in minutes, numbered in 10s. There is a triangle of 3 dots between the hours. The gnomon is sigmoid, and a solid 10mm thick.
