BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Centre (Old Church), Chester

The Centre is normally open only for talks, conferences etc. The dial is around the back of the building, in the SE corner. The plate has Roman numerals for 4am to 8pm, divided to 30, 10 and 5 minutes, but little more is discernible. The gnomon is half broken off, with the remains of two supports at 11am and 2pm. The pedestal has three stone stages with different profiles. The dial used to be attached by six screw bolts, but is now soldered to the top of the plinth.
