BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Rookery, Lambeth

The dial is in the walled garden in the lower part of The Rookery. Unusually the base of the style is in the centre of the dial plate, to allow for extensive text on the south side, which reads : ’Presented by the / Friends of Streatham Common / to mark the centenary / of the Rookery Gardens / (1913 – 2013)’. Roman numerals IV - XII - IV - VIII, read from the outside, with a noon gap and no subdivisions. Octagonal concrete pedestal 1025 high, set on an octagonal step, itself set on a circular step. The top is 350 across flats. Sundials here seem to be particularly vulnerable. This one seems to date from 2014, being a replacement for a 2013 slate dial with metal gnomon (vandalised later in 2013), itself a replacement for a brass dial stolen in 2011.
