BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Bitteswell

The dial is mounted above the Priest’s doorway into the Chancel, and at the left side of the doorway is an additional slate plate with a dedication and an EOT graph. The dial has hour lines for 6am to 5pm, the even numbered hours having aligned Arabic numerals 6, 8, 10, 2 and 4, and a cross for noon. The gnomon is a thin metal plate with a notch nodus, and springs from a blazing half sun. A single declination line is inscribed, labelled 22.8. Across the top of the plate is ’For those who Love - Time is Eternity’.
