BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Leics & Rutland

The dial is to the left of the path from the road to the church. The dial plate is square, but with its corners cut off irregularly, more so at the SW and SE corners. The chapter ring has numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with no noon gap (the gnomon is thin). Hour lines go to a circle around the gnomon root, and there are small half and quarter hour marks. The gnomon has riveted side support brackets and the rear edge has double-scrolled ornamentation. The plinth is square sectioned with two insets to each face. The top stone is badly worn with deep bowl shaped cups. Stylistic features suggest a date of around 1610 to 1640.
