BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin Church, Mentmore

This is a near-duplicate replacement for SRN 1260. It is mounted on 4 stainless steel studs set into the stonework above the entrance to the south porch. Across the top is ’18 ITA VITA 27’, as on the original dial, and at the bottom corners in small type is ’IB 2016’ for the maker and date of the new dial. The painting is by Harriet James. Upright Roman numerals using IIII and XII, with short hour lines, half hour lines with arrow heads, and short quarter-hour lines. The border with the motto and chapter ring is black with white figuring, and the centre white with black hour lines and a gold flaming half sun around the gnomon root, black edged. The delineation is corrected to be for 9 30 east, and minor errors in the original are corrected.
