BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh

The dial is enclosed in railings with an entrance gate, on the roadside grass verge. It has a smiling sun face and the motto ’I count only the sunny hours’. IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from outside, with 15 minute divisions. The plinth is of dark grey brick.
