BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Buckinghamshire

The dial is set into the brickwork of the porch gable end. It is delineated for direct south but the wall on which it is mounted faces approximately 25 degrees east of south. At the top of the dial plate is ’Eheu Fugaces / Postume Postume / Labuntur Anni’. It uses upright hour numerals VI - XII - IIII - VIII, with hour lines to a semicircle around the gnomon root, and no subdivisions. Little Piggotts is located 200-300 yards from Piggotts, the past workshops and community of Eric Gill. The opinion of the current owner of Little Piggotts, and also of that of Piggotts, is that the dial was made at the Piggotts workshops, not by Gill himself but perhaps by one of his apprentices.
