BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Staffordshire

The dial was installed in 1953 to commemorate the Queen’s Coronation. It stands on a square sectioned brick pillar. It appears to have 24 hours marked around the circumference, but at least the short hour lines seem to point to where the foot of the gnomon should be. The hours are marked with Roman numerals read from inside, with no subdivisions. The gnomon, which is slightly bent, appears to be mounted 180 degrees out of position. ’E R’ is marked in the northern half of the dial. All furniture is raised.
