BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Giles & St Matthew’s Church, Grimsby

The dial is located SW of the church doorway into the tower. It is mounted on a circular sectioned baluster pedestal. The hour numerals are IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the inside, with a noon gap, and divided to 30, 15 and 5 minutes. The motto at the south is ’A shadow about my face / the sunny hours of day will trace’. The gnomon is missing; but there are the remains of a rusty iron plate and iron angle supports.
