BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Surrey

The dial is incised in creamy sandstone in the centre of the south-facing terrace wall, above a circular bowl shape. Hour lines for 8am to 6pm radiate from a small semicircle, and there are short half hour lines. Vertical Roman numerals are positioned in a semi-circle half way along the hour lines, with IV for 4pm. There are no other inscriptions, but a small carved putto protrudes in each corner. All is unpainted. The gnomon is new, having been made by David Brown in 2016. The house was built by Robert Lutyens, son of Sir Edwin Lutyens, and Robert may have designed the sundial.
