BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Surrey

The dial is on one of the high brick walls surrounding the orchards, beyond the lower walled garden to the far north-east of the house. The wall is in the form of a free-standing ’Dutch Gable’, similar to that which supports SRN 3638 in the Officers’ Mess garden. Only the elaborately scrolled gnomon remains, the origin bent to accommodate a thick dial plate. The plate may have been of stone or wood, but no indication of its position or fixings can now be seen.
