BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is set in the fanlight of the main entrance. It is one of the final works of Henry Gyles, the last of four generations of glassmakers in York, and is probably the finest complete glass sundial extant, undamaged and with the gnomon still intact. The 10 painted glass panes are set in a timber frame, and feature an oval dial face with Roman numerals lying between four figures representing the seasons. Latin inscriptions make up a verse from Ovid’s Remediorum Amoris. The date is stated by British Listed Buildings as 1709: Chris Daniel puts it at c 1702,
