BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in London (Greater)

This dial is of the ’Spot-On’ design with a split gnomon to show noon accurately. It was recently refurbished as at April 2015. It is in the Resistance Agents War Memorial garden and is mounted on a double-sloped truncated square pyramid of polished black granite or similar stone. Around the top of the pyramid is inscribed ’This sundial / is created to the memory of / the Resistance Heroes of / Vincennes +’. The dial has Arabic hour numerals read fron the north for BST 7am to 7pm, with smaller Roman numerals for BST, labelled only for 6am to 6pm. The hours are divided to 30, 10 and 5 minutes. At the south, read from the north, is ’Spot-On Sundial / London / 51.5 N / XX’. A circle on the split noon lines marks the equinox, taking the image from a cylindrical hole in the split centre of the gnomon. Stone plaques in a surrounding wall commemorate many individual Resistance fighters.
