BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Wentworth Castle Gardens, Barnsley

The dial is affixed to a red sandstone wall below a (probably first-floor) window. It appears to be slate but some shelling reveals lighter material underneath. The gnomon is missing but vestigial material can be seen at the gnomon root and support. Upright Arabic numerals for 5am to 4pm in quarter hours. Morning quarters are marked by shelled-out slate preceding whole hour and half hour points; afternoon hours are marked by shelled out slate following the hour and half hour points.3 and 8 are flat topped; noon is marked as 12. No noon gap is present
