BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Pontefract Castle, Pontefract

This sundial was designed by The Friends of Pontefract Castle, carved and set out by apprentice masons and their tutor from The Prince’s Foundation for Conservation Skills and funded by The Heritage wentworthLottery Fund - 2012. The Hour Stones commemorate local events and features: VI Mining Industry; VII First Secret Ballot Box; VIII Prince of Wales Feathers; IX Rosse Observatory; X Historic Religious sites; XI K.O.Y.L.I. Emblem I Horse Racing; II Windmill; III Lottery Symbol; IV Friends of Pontefract Castle; V Liquorice Industry; VI Siege Coin
