BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Giles Church, Barrow

Anything there ever was on this presumed dial plate has been eroded away completely. The plate is surrounded on each side by an ensemble of lateral scrolls, and below by an inscribed panel on which can be read ’Jos Barney Curate / Hen Mayor Wardens / a Withing... [?] 1705’. The whole is supported by a corbel in the brickwork above the porch entrance, and there is a projecting top border.
