BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

High Street (1), Stanton

The dial is to the east of Burland Hall, standing in the rear garden on a tapering square section limestone block. It is an eight-ring armillary sphere, with polar circles and tropic rings. The meridian ring has a slot to the south to illuminate the nodus on the gnomon at noon. Inside the horizontal ring is ’ Richard Howard Tucker’, and outside is ’. . . there is a season and a time to every purpose unde rthe heaven’ and ’David Harber / Aston Upthorpe / Oxfordshire / MMIX’. Roman numerals for 6am to 6pm.
