BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in London (Greater)

The dial is fitted on a square sectioned limestone plinth with a ’pleated-cushion’ top. The corners of the plinth are chamfered, and adorned with crosses. The noon line lies diagonally across the plate. Hour numerals IIII - XII - IIII - V are read from outside, with a noon gap and hour lines to the circular 8-point compass rose around the gnomon root. The chapter ring is bordered with floral scrollwork, and divided to 30, 15 and 5 minutes. Around the NE, NW and SW sides are inscribed ’Yet a little / while is the / light with you’, from Job 12v35. The gnomon was missing in 2014 but it, or a good replacement, was in place by 2021. Commemorative plates are set into three sides of the plinth.
