BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is located in Valentines Mansion Gardens. The dial plate is set into the octagonally recessed top of an octagonal sectioned baluster style pedestal with top ornament and acanthus leaf base. At the gnomon point is inscribed ’Silberrad / Aldgate, London’. Numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII with noon gap, read from outside. Short hour lines in the chapter ring pass through the numerals. Divided on the inside of the ring to 30 and 15 minutes, and on the outer side to 30, 10 and 2 minutes, the 10 minutes being labelled in Arabic numerals. There is a 16-point compass rose at the centre labelled to NNE etc.
