BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial has a musical theme, with the motto at the top: ’TEMPO GIUSTISSIMO’ (In the strictest possible time). Morning half hours are marked with sharps, afternoon with flats. A sunburst is represented by an empty musical stave with bar lines. It is of Welsh slate, with grey incisions except for gilt motto, blue winter solstice, green equinox, red summer solstice lines, and gilt half-hour semibreves. The gnomon is of 3mm thick water-jet cut stainless steel, supported by a bass clef, and the style represents a conductor’s baton, with the tip acting as a nodus at 60mm above the plate. Upright Arabic numerals for 7am to 6pm with a gilt double sharp for noon. There is an EoT plaque on an adjacent brick buttress at eye level, corrected for longitude in the form of a guitar finger-board. Maker’s logo at the RHS bottom edge of the dial plate.
