BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Shepherd House, Inveresk

The dial is above the door to the garden. Across the top: ’A celebration of time past, time present & / time future at Shepherd House’, and around the chamfer of the lower edge ’Presented to C.A.F by United Biscuits’. Radially aligned numerals V - XII - IV, with no subdivisions. Dial was a retirement gift from the directors of United Biscuits to Sir Charles A. Fraser on the occasion of his retirement from the Board. It is reported to have been made by a member of the British Sundial Society from the south of England, not yet identified.
