BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Mease and Sence Noon Column, Swadlingcote

A Noon Mark in the woodland picnic area, made by the National Forest Company. It is about 1 1/4 miles SE of Coton in the Elms. A vertical slit has been cut in the trunk of the tree, 1250mm high by 35 wide. The trunk is set vertically on a circular concrete base about 1750 dia by 320 high. This is No 3 of a set of six similar devices erected by the National Forest Company in Leics, Derbys and Staffs (SRNs 7698 - 7702, and 7272). Photo requested.
