Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is near the Braes Road car park. It s semi-circular in form, alongside the harbour-side path, and cut into a low grassy bank provided with bench seats. Roman numerals for 7am to 7pm, with no subdivisions. A tablet explains thus: ’Saltcoats Solar Time. Your watch tells you the legal time based on the Greenwich Meridian. This sundial shows Saltcoats own local time by the sun’. It gives 55º 38’ N 4º 48’ W.
