BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Clwyd Area

The dial is in the centre of the formal garden. The property is an events venue and has occasional open days. Roman numerals read from outside IIII - XII - IIII - VIII; split noon; half-hour diamond markers, minute marks, 5-minute lines, 20-minutes named. 16-point compass rose, N, NNW, NW etc read from outside. At the south: ’WELLINGTON / LONDON / Lat 52: 50’. The pedestal is a sandstone baluster; the dial is thick and sits proud of the base, attached by three rivets. Wellington worked from 1784 and died in 1812. The central portion of the house is 1612 but there was a major remodelling in 1808 when the grounds were also laid out, this being possibly the date of the sundial.
