BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (W)

The circular dial is inscribed on a rectangular stone block canted out strongly from the stone wall of the dwelling. Around the upper border is ’ John Sanderson Fect’, and just below is the date 1791. Across the toe of the gnomon, we have ’Lat 54 Deg’. Roman hour numerals VI - VI are inscribed radially in the chapter ring, with full length hour lines and no subdivisions. Approximate equinox and solstice lines are given but there is no sign of a nodus on the gnomon.
