BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Kingswinford

The dial is in the form of a ’lantern’ on top of what seems to be a very ancient (medieval?) ‘market cross’, much in need of repair. Very indisctinct traces of hour lines on E and W faces. Nothing apparent on N face, and S face not visible because it was lying on this face. SRN 2344 at Upton on Severn, Worcs, may be a copy of this one. Seen in workshop of Sally Strachey Conservation in Godney, Somerset where it had been brought for conservation. Restoration quotation provided by Harriet James and subject of BSS restoration grant application.
