BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Made from Woodkirk Yorkstone from Morley in Yorkshire, the dial stands on a small lawn just below the Cottage Garden, with a view of the clock on the stables. The main block is 445w x 430h x 380deep. The south side holds a cylindrical scaphe dial delineated for 6am to noon reading clockwise and from noon to 6pm anticlockwise. Hours (omitting 6, 12 and 9) are in Roman numerals, with full hour lines. Below that is a polar dial with hours IX, XI, I and III marked. The upper face of the north side is an equatorial dial with a solid square gnomon. Hour lines are shown and numbered for 5, 7, 9am, noon, and 3, 5 and 7pm, and other hours from 4am to 8pm are indicated by diamond shaped dots. The two dots in the noon gap serve for 10 and 11am, and also for 1 and 2 pm. Below this is a pair of equatorial dials with hour lines for 7am to 5pm, with numerals for 8 and 10am and for 2 and 4pm. The two sides hold a direct east and a direct west dial. Most of the available spare space on all faces is taken up with the names, distances and directions of 42 ancient stone circles and earthworks located throughout Derbyshire.
