BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in London (Greater)

The dial stands in the garden to the east of the house. There is no ordinary public access even when the house is open to the public. The motto reads: "Serene I stand among ye flowers, I only count life’s sunny hours. For me dark days do not exist. I’m a brazen-faced old optimist". Noon gap, numerals read from inside the chapter ring, Uses IIII. 8 point compass, Four hole blind fixing in chapter ring. Floral acanthus-like décor in a band between chapter ring and compass. Broken only for the motto which is engraved in small capitals. Simple line time divisions without decoration. Magnificent Greek style tricorn sandstone pedestal on circular marble base. Female supporters, each with serpent décor, at each corner and in side cartouches too. Key pattern around base. Dial probably too small to be original to this base though there are no evident fixings for a larger dial. Perhaps this pedestal was not intended for a dial
