BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Newland Court, Witham

The dial plate is set into brickwork at the apex of the central entrance bay of the building. A semi-circular pediment has flaming sun rays, with ’1987 / Anglia Secure Homes’. Upright Arabic hour numerals 7am to 2pm. Hour lines only. Rod gnomon on two struts. Declination approx 50 degrees east. The dial was designed by Edwin Russell and carved by his apprentice Konrad Dechant
