BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hilltop, Upper Hambleton

The dial is set centrally into the stonework of the end wall of the house near the peak of the gable. A longer stone with chamfered ends is above it, with possibly the remains of some lettering. The dial plate has no visible markings, but two slots for the fixing of an off-set gnomon. Ref: ’Time in Rutland’, Ovens & Sleath
