BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Chapel of St John and St Anne, Oakham

The dial is set into the SW corner of the chapel. It is formed from a deep stone block, cut to leave the dial angled to face south, and cut back in the lower half to leave the face in the shape of a shield. Radial numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, with hour lines to small semi-circle around the gnomon root. Metal gnomon whose base (along the dial face) is cut away in a manner which may have significance.
