BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lincolnshire

A millennium sundial. The dial plate is recessed into the large square top of a tapering plinth of polished blak granite. It is located by a pond at the entrance to the church car park. It is a garden centre type dial with motto ’Let others tell of storms and showers, I’ll only count your Sunny Hours’, and false date 1767. Smiling sun face with 8 compass points, labelled only to E etc. Arabic numerals for 4am to 8pm, read from outside, with split noon, divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 mins. The gnomon is missing. The plinth top is inscribed ’Believe in what you do; do what you believe in’.
