BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This vertical dial is carved on a stone slab set into a deeply canted recess (with arched top) in the outer stone wall of the garden. Across the top of the dial plate is ’Life’s but a walking Shadow’, and the date 1724 is in a box below the gnomon root. Upright numerals X - XII - IIII - VIII, with hour lines and short half hour lines terminated by triple dots. Flat blade iron gnomon with single horizontal support.
