BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is high on the gable of a short transept next to the S porch. The gnomon springs from a small sunburst. Across the top are ’Silas Higgon fecit’ and ’Lat 51 8’. In the lower quarter of the plate is ’This sundial was provided by / the villagers of Newland to / commemorate the year 2000’.
