BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Powell-Cotton Museum (2), Birchington

This is one of two dials at this museum. It can be found adjacent to the restaurant in a small paved area. It is of the ’underslung’ gnomon type, distributed by Haddonstone (the gnomon now missing). There is an engraved Sun face and the motto ’Make time, save time, While time lasts; all time is no time when time is past’. The numerals are in the form IV - XII - IIII - VIII and are viewed from inside. The hours are divided into 30, 15 and 5 minute intervals.
