BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The house is early 17th century and the dial may date from the same period or could be a later addition. It is surmounted by ironwork which may have held a weathervane or other decorative feature. It is positioned high on the peak of the S gable.
