BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The obelisk, mounted on a hexagonal pyramidal base, forms the centrepiece of the Egyptian Avenue. It is 5 metres tall and made of Portland stone. The dial faces are Broughton Moor green slate. The dials were delineated by Sir Mark Lennox-Boyd, and carved by Fergus Wessel. The dials tell clock time, with instructions on use. Six dials are provided, allowing for both halves of the year (days getting longer, days getting shorter).
