BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

People’s Park, Halifax

Known as the Smith dial, this was presented to the town by Matthew Smith (later Mayor of Halifax) in 1873. An elaborate design, used again for the dial at Middlesborough, North Yorks (SRN 3436), 28 years later.
