BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hillsborough Castle, in the rose garden, Hillsborough

The dial is in the rose garden. It is a 5-ring armillary sphere in stainless steel, held on a square s/s base by a bronze pair of sculpted hands by John Sherlock. The unusual hour ring has laser cut-out Roman numerals for the full 24 hours. The construction was mainly by Bertie McClure, who is responsible for all the clocks at Government House. It replaces the similar dial of 1920 (SRN 5875), and stands on the same pedestal.
