BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Coach House, Donington

The dial is in poor condition, with flaking paint or perhaps thin sheet metal over a wooden backing. The gnomon appears to be of wood, with a double straight iron support. Upright numerals VI - XII - IV - V, with hour lines and 1/2 hour divisions. Motto and date at upper edge, possibly:’Caveto nefeitis horam’. There is also a semicircular ribbon below the gnomon with, probably, ’Breve et irreparabile tempus’, from Virgil. The dial plate is set between the first and second floor windows of a bay overlooking the main street.
