BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lincolnshire

A circular stepped dial plate on a square based plinth developing to an octagonal top. The thin unpierced gnomon has side support blocks. The plate is lightly inscribed in script form, with ’M. E. Turtle, Coppersmith, Old Leake, Lincolnshire’ and ’Local Solar Time’. 16-point compass with cardinal points shown in full (NORTH etc), intermediate points abbreviated (as n.n.e, n.e etc). The time scale is for 4am to 8pm, with Roman hour numerals marked for 5am to 7pm, and divided to 15 and 30 minutes.
