BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

John Clare’s Cottage, Helpston

This is a simple but sturdily carved square dial, mounted just below the roof line on the south face of this modernised barn. Dates and initials in Roman capitals announce its creation to have taken place in 1964, but the name which is summarised by the initials JGW is not known.
