BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hatfield House, Hatfield

Built for HatfieldÆs 400th Anniversary celebrations in 2011. Set in the West Garden, in a stone compass rose manufactured in various stones. 7000 letters were carved into Cornish De Lank granite as were direction indicators on compass points with bronze inserted into the letters. The rest of the installation was made using Zimbabwe Black granite, Heather Red & Heather Blue Welsh slate & Elterwater Light Green Slate from Burlington.
