BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Woodhall Hills Hamlet, Pudsey

A vertical dial possibly with a cast metal plate and most furniture in relief. Across the upper part, ’ W H S S ’ - for Woodhall Hills Sunday School. Below that the date ’1 8 3 7 ’. Hour numerals VII to II are in relief in sunken areas shaped like inverted shields. In the corners of the main dial plate are four initials, ’Y ? T R ’, and scratched mid bottom, ’JDC’. Around the four sides are many pairs and triples of letters, presumably individuals’ initials.
