BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Baldwins Bec Gardens, Eton

A brass horizontal dial dating from 1977 is 380mm in diameter. It shows the hours VII - VII with divisions of 30, 15 and 5 minutes. Around the centre is a 16-point compass rose and there is a curved Equation of Time chart at th south side of the dial plate. A motto round the edge of the dial plate reads ’Thou by the dial’s shady stealth mayst know time’s thievish progress to eternity.’ The latitude 51° 30 N and the maker’s name ® Solstice also appear on the dial plate. Around the circular slate mount is inscribed ’Presented by the parents of R A C Fowler 1992 - 1997’.
