BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

1 Sundial Cottage, Colton

An unusual terracotta dial plate in sections. Break-arch top with the date 1913. Interior section of the dial plate in sectors, one per hour, the central hours numbered in Gothic script VIII - XII - IIII, with dots in the segments for half hours. Below ’Redeem the Time’, in a large sector, and below that two rectangular sections. The left has ’E B B’ and smaller undeciphered characters. The right has again undeciphered characters and then ’J C C’, all in Gothic. Flat blade metal gnomon with straight and scrolled supports. The dial is set into the pebble-dash finish of the south wall of the cottage.
