BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Royal Russell School, Croydon

8-point compass rose. Aligned numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, from outside, with noon gap and 30, 15 and 5 minute divisions. Gnomon has stepped underside, ogee tip and shaped flat semicircular supports. Dial mounted on square sectioned plinth, at centre of paved and gravelled area in school gardens. It is a memorial to all Russellians who lost their lives as a result of war.
