BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Cemetery, Laughton

Roman hour numerals 5am to 7pm with half and quarter hour divisions. Horizon ring inscribed ’Thou by the dial’s shady stealth mayst know time’s thievish progress to eternity’ (Shakespeare, Sonnet 77). Plinth of polished marble, on stepped base, square section. In memory of aircrew who lost their lives locally in WW2.
