BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Red House., Tanworth in Arden

On the front of a house near the Bell Inn is a flat wooden board painted in the form of an open book, with ’TIME ON THE GREEN’, and, on the recto page, a small sun face. Upright numerals VII - XII - IIII - V, with hour ticks but no subdivisions. Horizontal gnomon rod with spear head, which may be a continuation of a wrought iron bracket by which the dial appears to be hung some diatance out from the wall. Because of its horizontal gnomon the dial cannot possibly keep accurate solar time here though it might stand a chance at the equator. It measures about 750mmw x 600mmh.
